Substance Abuse Assessment (SAA)

A face-to-face interview and a NEEDS assessment are used as an evaluation. This is a close-ended psychological testing tool that tests the following areas: truthfulness, life stress, attitude, emotional stability, criminal history, and alcohol/drug use.

The following ONE-TIME Substance Abuse services are offered: first time offenders, marijuana education, and minor in-possession.

We also offer the IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) & Relapse Prevention Program which you can read more about individually.

Domestic Violence Inventory (DVI)

This face-to-face interview and evidence based testing tool is used before enrolling into our Batterer's Intervention Program. This testing will determine whether the participant meets criteria as a batterer (and hence enrollment into the BIP). Answers are compiled in the following six areas: truthfulness, alcohol, control, drugs, violence, and stress coping.

Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP)

Our BIP program follows all of the programming and curriculum structure as set forth by The Batterers Intervention Service Coalition of Michigan (BISCMI). Secure Counseling is a member of the Batterer's Intervention Service Coalition. The program will cover some of the following criteria: what is psychological abuse, what is physical and sexual abuse, consequences of re-offending, alcohol and drugs (not the cause!), basic anger management (anger is also not the cause), self-accountability, dynamics of healthy intimate relationships, and much more.

Anger Management (Profile &/or Program)

Whether court-ordered or self-referred, this is where your new journey begins. This is a 12-week program every Wednesday that starts with a two-hour, one-on-one profile. During this assessment/profile, we will measure truthfulness, anger, anger management, alcohol and drugs. Profiles/assessments can be done without involvement in the 12-week program. This Anger Management program addresses concerns such as: when does anger become a problem, how to respond instead of react, harmful communication, and much more.

This program is NOT for intimate partner violence (this is domestic violence).

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP program is a treatment service and support program. This program helps you identify and cope effectively with high-risk situations such as negative emotional states, interpersonal conflict, and social pressure.

IOP is available in both groups and individual structure; placement is based on what is more appropriate and beneficial.

Driver's License Restoration Evaluation (DL)

Driver license assessments assist with reinstatement. A substance abuse evaluation, application, report, request for hearing and a lab confirmed drug
screen are compiled to turn into the state for license hearing.

Relapse Prevention

Our relapse prevention program teaches individuals with substance addictions how to anticipate and cope with the potential for relapse. This is an after-care program that focuses on coping skills, training, and teaching strategies.

Drug Testing

Our drug testing options are as follows: Instant THC urine, instant 10 panel urine, 10 panel saliva, 10 panel lab confirmed results, ETG urine, and PBT. If this confuses you, don't worry. We basically test for the following drugs: cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, barbiturates, opiates, buprenorphine, methadone, oxycodone, and benzodlazepines.

Most of our drug testing is court mandated; however, we do offer these services to anyone and will not share the results without your permission. We also have a NEW color drug testing program!
